The
Association for Excellence in Sales and Marketing
Education
(AESME)
is a loosely knit organization of faculty
and Vector Marketing
executives who share a common interest in
the preparation of college students for careers
in sales and marketing.
At its core, Vector
Marketing has dynamic group of talented
and committed college student sales professionals
who have propelled the companys growth
to over $197,000,000 in annual sales.
The development of AESME started with a group
of eight professors in California in 1998.
Since then membership
in AESME has grown to nearly 100 professors
who teach sales and marketing at diverse institutions
including major research universities, private
liberal arts colleges, and community colleges
as well.
A faculty members degree of involvement with AESME can vary. In the most limited sense, an associated professor can:
- Have
access to Vector Marketing executives
for classroom guest lectures
- Be invited to speak at a Vector meetings and conferences
- Be included in company mailings
- Receive a certificate of membership and have an annual letter of commendation sent to his/her dean.
If an professor wants to pursue a greater degree of involvement, that can come in the form of:
- Recommending students for internships
- Having access to Vector for case studies
- Being exposed to the business as a "laboratory of sales and sales management experience"
- Cooperating on market research projects utilizing the Vector business and organization
